TYRONE EDWARD JACKSON was born on July 15, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, marking the beginning of his life’s journey. After a prolonged struggle with illness, he passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. The son of Susie Ella Harris and Harry Jackson, Tyrone was the fifth of six siblings.

Growing up in Baltimore’s Cherry Hill Community, Tyrone received his education through the Baltimore City Public Schools. A quick learner with a sharp mind, he embarked on a career in the banking industry in New York City before relocating to Washington, DC, where he worked for 18 years. After returning to Baltimore, he took on various jobs until declining health hindered his ability to work.

Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tyrone adored his kind-hearted, friendly, and fun-loving nature. He was a fierce protector of his family and deeply cherished by all. A knowledgeable individual and a master storyteller, he served as the “family historian”.

Tyrone lived a fulfilling life, fueled by his love for people and his acceptance of Christ. His caring, kind, and witty personality had the power to uplift any gathering. He found great joy in spending quality time with his family, whom he treasured dearly. He had a special affection for his nieces and nephews, earning the affectionate title "Uncle Ty." He shared a unique bond with them, always being a great listener and conversationalist who loved to share laughter. Although he had no biological children of his own, he treated them as if they were his own.

In his leisure time, Tyrone enjoyed watching good movies, following intense tennis matches, and listening to great music, particularly Aretha Franklin. He was meticulous and very stylish in his appearance. He was also an exceptional cook.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie Harris; his father, Harry Jackson; and two sisters, Martha Brown and Frances Harris; nieces Darlene, Wanda, nephew Shawn, and great niece Larryn.

Tyrone will be remembered fondly by his three siblings, Susie Hopkins, Patricia Gaither and James “Andre” Putman; nieces and nephews,  Margaret, Lenora, Tanya “Nita”, Tanya L.  (Joseph), Juma; great nieces and nephews, Donna, Lenaya, Shawn, Devin, Shawnta, Jordyn, Jared, Juma, and Aubrey; great great nieces and nephews, cherished friends Anita “Peaches”, Johnny and Doris along with other relatives and friends.
