Thomas Edward Carey III, affectionately known as “Mickey,” was born on December 17, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Margaret Williams and the late Thomas Carey Jr. He departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Thomas was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and later received his GED. Throughout his life, he held several jobs, with his last place of employment being Union Memorial Hospital before becoming disabled.

Thomas enjoyed attending Hopkins Elder Plus three days a week, where he participated in physical therapy, recreation, social activities, outings, and spending time with others. He looked forward to riding in the van and enjoying the many activities and services the program provided.

Thomas will be remembered for his sharp sense of fashion, his love of chess and playing cards, and most of all, his deep devotion to his family. He enjoyed bringing people together, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories with those he loved. His kindness, wisdom, and loving spirit will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Bobby; three sisters, Barbara, Betty, and Mary; and four nephews, Chino, Derrick, Dante, and Demetrius.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Ann (David Small); one aunt, Brenda Huff; three children, Noren, Kim, and Jonathan on his father’s side; one daughter, Tiffany; four nieces, Barbara, Kia, Tyra, and Tyesha; six nephews, Antoine, Dameon, Cory, Ricardo, Tremayne, and Woody; seven great-nieces, Deshaunda, Sydney, Kaliah, Kory, Takia, Latwanda, and Tyricka; seven great-nephews, Tykwon, Dante Jr., Derrick, Dameon, Maurice Jr., and others; fifteen great-great-nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Thomas also leaves behind his devoted and loving partner, Wanda Holmes. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and memories he shared will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, Mickey. Your love, wisdom, style, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will remain with your family forever. ❤️
