TERRI LYNN TAYLOR was born on January 16, 1971, in Baltimore, Maryland to proud parents, Douglas Johnson and Deborah Taylor. Terri was a fun and joyful child who enjoyed laughing and dancing with her twin sister, Toni Taylor-Dezurn, family and friends. Terri was a natural leader and dreamed of the best life for her and her family.
Terri attended Baltimore City Public Schools. She was known by her friends and classmates for her wit and beautiful smile. After high school, Terri worked various jobs such as McDonald's, Ace Check Cashing and the YMCA. Terri had a passion for helping others and was known to share her home and delicious meals with anyone in need. She did not turn away any stranger, family or friend who needed her help. Terri had a deep passion for changing the world around her. Therefore, she decided to open a daycare for children in her neighborhood, Kidz Kreationz. The business gave her an extra spark for life as she watched the children in her care grow and prosper to become healthy young people. She loved to hear the joy in children's laughter. She kept them well fed and ensured that they received whatever they needed. Terri's dream was to eventually open a large facility to care for a multitude of children. Terri expanded her business to include transportation services. Terri was sure to include her family members in every aspect of her business. She adored her family and wanted the best for them.
In 1990, Terri met the love of her life and dedicated husband, Grandison Lucius, Sr. They joined together in marriage in 2004. They enjoyed many precious moments together including countless family gatherings, dinner, and dreaming about their future together. They had goals of achieving more than either could ever dream. From their union, Terri birthed three loving children, Grandison, Jr., Madison and Ashton Lucius. She was a stern yet, doting mother who wanted her children to achieve all their hearts desire. She wanted her children to gain a quality education and be grounded in faith by ensuring that they attended private schools for as long as possible. She encouraged her children to wear the full armor of Christ and to remain steadfast in achieving their goals.
At a young age, Terri dedicated her life to Christ. She was a dedicated and faithful member of New Harvest Ministries under the tutelage of Bishop Johnson. She loved her church and church family. Terri loved her family. She often said, "This year, it's all about family". She was supportive of her family and recently was passed the torch to organize her annual family reunion. She took great joy in the task and wanted all aspects to be perfect for her family who would come from near and far. Terri was also a dedicated aunt to her twin sister's children, Douglas, Kandice , Keisha and great niece Erin. She had an active role in their lives and was so proud to watch them grow.
To celebrate her life and cherish her memory, Terri leaves her husband, Grandison Sr., son, Grandison Jr., (Jewel) and daughters, Madison and Ashton; brothers, Guy Taylor (Shonda) and Carroll Johnson (Ira). Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Johnson and Deborah Taylor, twin sister, Toni Taylor-Dezurn and brother, Kevin Johnson.
