Steven William Harvey was born on August 25, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, to William Harvey Jr. and Yvonne Dean Harvey. He departed this life on December 30, 2025. He was a cherished son, father, grandfather, and husband, whose life was defined by quiet strength and love for his family.
He received his early education in the Baltimore City Public School system and proudly graduated from Baltimore City College High School. He later attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).
Steven was raised in a Christian household and was later baptized at Memorial Baptist Church. He loved Christ and enjoyed listening to gospel music.
Throughout his life, Steven was known for his love of sports, music, and playing chess with his best friend and family. Growing up, he excelled at baseball and played many seasons for the Mary Dobkin’s Baseball League in East Baltimore. He was the starting pitcher for the Murdock Hawks, a team in an amateur baseball league, and was scouted by the Kansas City Royals Junior League. He loved watching college and NFL football.
Steven met the love of his life, Linda Wade, during their junior high school years, and their lifelong bond led to marriage in 1975. From this union, two children were born, Avery Dewaun Harvey and Nichole Yvonne Harvey. Steven was a devoted provider and a loving father who took great pride in caring for and guiding his family.
Steven was employed by the Pepsi Cola Company as a forklift operator for many years. He then worked for Chimes International and finished his career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Steven had a great sense of humor and often referred to himself as “the broke Steve Harvey”.
He will be lovingly remembered, deeply missed, and forever honored for the life he lived and the family he loved.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Avery Harvey, and his father, William Harvey Jr.
