Shirley J. Jones

SHIRLEY J. JONES daughter of the late Phillip Jefferson and Emma Martin was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 6, 1935. She departed this life after a lengthy illness.

She received her education at Baltimore City Public Schools. She was employed at Park Manor Nursing Home until her retirement.

She married the late William W. Jones and out of this union were 6 children. Shirley had two previous children by the late James A. Steadman Sr.

Shirley made numerous friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She was always a true friend and a devoted family woman. Shirley loved to travel and loved cooking and would feed anyone.

Shirley leaves to mourn four sons, James, William, Michael, Jonathan and one adopted son, James Carr Jr.; two daughters, Cordelia and Mona Lisa; two son-in-laws, Darnell and Vernon; two daughters-in-law Joyce and Cassandra; three brothers, Dennis, Howard and Joseph; two sisters, Hattie and Denise; thirty one grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; one aunt, Doris Arrington; three devoted friends, Lorraine, Marie and Retta; preceding her in death daughter; Rita Stanfield; son, Alan; one grandson, Michael Jones Jr.; great grandson, Shawn Holmes; two sisters, Henrietta McCants and Emma; three brothers, Antonio Jefferson, Phillip Jefferson and Albert Jefferson a host of relatives and friends.
