Shawn D. Holmes

Shawn Damien Holmes, son of the late Wilbert Holmes and Yvette Beadles was born on June 3,1982 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on February 21st, 2019 after a brief illness. He graduated from Aberdeen Senior High School in Aberdeen, Maryland. While attending Aberdeen High School he was a part of the Junior ROTC, the Horticulture Club, the Photography Club and he was also a member of the Boys and Girls Club.

For 13 years Sean was a dedicated employee of Hess Enterprise of Aberdeen, Maryland. Everyone enjoyed working with him, he loved his job and rarely missed work. He was a Lifelong member of Fountain Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.

As a child Shawn lived in Augsburg, Germany on a military base with his family for 3 1/2 years. While there he love to travel to Munich and visit the beaches of Barcelona, Spain. He was very brave and inquisitive. He learned the train system and explored Germany alone and at times with his friends in search of new adventures. When he lived stateside he met many new friends and had great experiences in Philadelphia, New York, Oklahoma and Georgia.

Shawn had an enormous heart he gave to family and friends alike. He had a special bond with his niece and nephew. He loved to stay in touch with his family members and have conversations about family history and meeting new family. He loved history, especially the Civil Rights era and the Freedom Fighters. Family and friends knew him to be a charismatic conversationalist that loved special events. In his free time, Shawn liked to browse the Internet to find new recipes to make at home and spread joy to his social media friends across the country.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Yvette Beadles; devoted stepfather, Antonio Beadles; two sons, Shawn Holmes, Jr., Zamir Holmes; his brothers, Dondre Paige, Xavier Holmes; sisters, Antonia Beadles, Ziara Holmes; special uncles, Antonio Stanfield; uncle, Robert Holmes (Margo); aunts, Carolyn Haskins (Nathan), Nikia Lacks (Brandon); Jasmine Raye; Sarah Ann Tate, Barbara Holmes, Carolyn Bey, Marie Karega (Clifford), Lisa Holmes; his great-grandmother, Shirley Jones; his children’s mother, Lawanda Mallory; three best friends, Larry Quesenberry, Arkeen Davis, Gavin Castle and a host of relatives and friends. Proceeding him in death are his maternal grandmother, Rita Stanfield and his father, Wilbert Holmes.
