Shawanda D. Calaman

SHAWANDA DENISE CALAMAN, daughter of Leonard Calaman and Darlene Matthews was born on November 10, 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a brief illness, she departed this life from labor and pain to reward peacefully Friday, December 7, 2018 with family and friends surrounding her.

Shawanda graduated from Patterson High School and worked for several industrial employers.

Shawanda began dating Garry, affectionately called "Meechie" in 2008. The couple was loved by many. They traveled together; partied together, laughed together, cried together and most important they took great pride in raising her beautiful daughter, Diamond and handsome nephew, David, III.

Shawanda was a loving, caring and voice tress woman. To know her was to love her, some of her favorite sayings were, "What the world" and "You play too much". She loved shopping, dining out, traveling and partying with family and friends. She was blessed to celebrate the 41st chapter of her Book of Life with family and friends.

Shawanda was preceded in death by her brother, David Dupree II.

Shawanda leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memory: loving and devoted daughter, Diamond Trice; loving granddaughter, A'Zari Brown, loving and devoted fiance, Garry "Meechie" Blue; loving nephew, David Dupree, III; loving mother, Darlene (Gerald) Matthews; loving dad, Leonard Calaman; loving brother, Stephen Dupree; loving sister, Shana Calaman; loving niece, Lyric; loving and devoted grandmother, Mary Trent; loving aunts, Wanda (David), Carol, Priscilla (Stokes) and Deborah; loving uncles; Lawrence, Jerome and Melvin; loving great-aunt, Hilda Hamilton, several devoted friends and a host of other family and friends.
