Sharon D.
Jones
Nov 10, 1958 — May 1, 2026
SHARON D. JONES was born on November 10, 1958, to the late Harold S. Hamlin and Dorothy M Simpson in Baltimore, Maryland. On May 1, 2026, after a very lengthy illness and battle with cancer, she received the call of the Lord and gracefully answered, entering into her eternal rest with the Lord.
Sharon was raised in Baltimore City and received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Sharon was saved as a young adult and later rededicated herself to the Lord, becoming a member of Greater St. John Full Gospel Baptist Church in 2012, where she attended regularly.
Sharon was married to her high school sweetheart, the late Robert L. Jones and from their union, they were blessed with two children; son Daya Darrelle Jones and daughter Giselle Torrea Jones. After many years of marriage, they later divorced and she again found love and friendship with the late James E. Johnson.
Sharon was employed at Canton Harbor Nursing Home as a housekeeper, later becoming a GNA and Medicine Tech for over six years. She worked as a Private Duty Assistant for five years and then made a career change to become an employee of MTX Inc. Here, she learned and grew as a Professional Floor Technician. She was well known as a Master Floor Restorer. She soon became a Supervisor for the company and helped many men and women looking for employment. MTX Inc. was more than just a job; it was a place of family and fun after all the hard work was done.
Sharon had a strong and passionate love for her family. She would help anyone in need. She even opened her door to many who needed somewhere to lay their heads. She loved spending time with family, laughing, joking, dancing and yes, food. Crabs, chicken, hog maws and chitterlings and yes, even pig feet and pigtails were at the top of her list. She enjoyed riding around town with Daya and hanging out with Giselle. When you saw one, the other was not too far behind.
Sharon leaves to cherish her precious memories her two loving children, Daya an Giselle Jones; one son-in-law, Terry Jones Sr.; eight grandchildren, Vlezqurez S. Goode Jr. (who preceded her in death), Day"Kira, Daiah, Natasia, Ashley, Terry Jr., Zieon and Daya Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Aaden and Kodi Jones; and fifteen siblings (nine who preceded her in death); Herbert, Bruce, Ronald, Arnold, Anthony, Marvin, Dennis, Charles and Victoria. Six living siblings include Robert Hamlin (Diane), Deborah Ash, Michael Carter (Netta), Karen Morrison (Johnny) and Rodney Hamlin. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Adams and Juanita Jackson; two bonus daughters, Tiffany Taylor and Daisa Jones; close nieces and nephews Tona, Dachele, Todd, Daniece, Mike Jr., Ray, Robbie, Lee, Nellie, Tutu, Duke and Alexis; and a host of many more family and friends that she loved deeply
