“Because her work was done at the culmination of her earthly work, the Master’s plan is that she will return home”.
Rosa Arnetta Cousin began her sojourn here on June 18, 1925, born to the late Crawley Cousin and Rosina Pearce Cousin in Wakefield, Virginia.
Rosa graduated from Carver High School, Baltimore, MD.
She married William (Bill) Mitchell (d) in 1943, from the union was born Ernestine Mithcell McCoy (d). After William’s accidental death she married Sam Moore (d) in 1947, born from this union was Terran (d) and Rodney Kris Moore (d).
Rosa was a hard-working mother, she was employed at St. Agnes Hospital, Homewood School and London Fog where she worked for 30 years until she retired.
Rosa joined Mt. Calvary Star Baptist Church and was a faithful member under the pastorate of Rev. Nobel H. Toyer and Rev. Alex Young Sr. She served faithfully and worked tirelessly on the Trustee Board. She loved to sing, she joined the Gospel Choir and The Voices of Mt. Calvary. When entering the front doors of Mt. Calvary, she greeted everyone with a smile and a welcome. You could not miss her, dressed in her crisp-starched, white usher uniform she wore proudly. When she marched as an usher, oh, you would have to see her march, in tune, head up, hand behind her back it was something to see.
Rosa enjoyed cooking home cooked meals, shopping, traveling and listening and singing to gospel music. Rosa had a caring and loving heart. She was warm, giving and always willing to help others if you were a friend of hers for many years or a stranger she just met. She had an un-canning ability to make those close to her feel warm and secure even in the midst of a storm.
Rosa was preceded in death by her sister Rebecca Cousin; grandson Rodney Moore; friends Lola Young, Margaret Hebrund, Barbara Henry, Patricia Reaves.
Rosa leaves behind her sister: Dorothy Simms; four grandchildren, Rhonda (Kimathi), Kevin
