ROLAND N. POWELL JR., fondly known as MUS was born to Roland N. Powell Sr. and Lolita Holloway on August 7, 1968, in Baltimore. He peacefully went home on August 11, 2026.

Roland attended and graduated from Patterson Park High School in Baltimore, Maryland. During his adult life, he had several jobs, his most recent being Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Until his recent illness and during his time at home, he was a very devoted, loving and dedicated caregiver to Ms. Annette Bedford, whom he called his second mother. 

Roland was a very humble, kind-hearted person and very likeable by everyone; he loved his family very much.

Roland was a SPORTS FANATIC! Any and every sport  you could think of, he was a fan. From his Ravens to his Orioles, and especially that "phony-fake" wrestling.

Roland LOVED to travel. He made friends wherever he went and was the life of the party. He brough warmth to every space he entered.

Roland was preceded in death by his son, Roland N. Powell III.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Gina Powell; his granddaughter, Raniya Powell; father, Roland Powell Sr.; mother, Lolita Holloway, and a very dedicated and caring stepfather, Paul Holloway and a very dedicated and caring stepfather, Paul Holloway; stepdaughter Nikia Robinson; step-grandson, Kai Robinson; siblings, Carol (Buddy), Kijana (Courtney Sr.), Sharnette ( Andrew), Latoya, Myra, Shada and Malik; two godchildren, Kyndall and De'sjohn Berrains; aunts, Dasylvia Williams, Sharon Williams (Leonard), Yvette Johnson (Wade), Joycelyn Manzur and Nettie Matthews; uncles, Anthony Jones, Keith, Tyrone, Kevin (Iris) and Rodney Berrain and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We want to recognize a few of his special and devoted loved ones. Kevin-Uncle/Brother, Iris-Aunt/sister; three special friends, Tonya Bedford, Janice Covington, and Tammie Marshall; two best friends, Corey Nivens and Earl Fields along with his Johns Hopkins Brothers.
