ROGERS ODELL FINLEY was born on Dec. 24, 1927, in Bruna Vista, Virginia. Early in his childhood, Rogers moved to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, which explains why he was a die hard Steelers Fan. Later, he went on to join the United States Army and fought during the Korean War. Roger had 2 daughters Linda and Jaquetta and a son Roger Jr. Later Roger went on to meet and marry Elizabeth Finley in the 80's at University of Maryland Hospital.

Roger and Liz started a new life together raising kids and serving in the community. He worked effortlessly in jobs throughout the years such as the steel mill, University of Maryland Hospital and John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. Even after retirement Roger wanted to continue working and went on to work at Eddie's of Roland park.

Roger attended Refuge Way of the Cross where he and Liz got remarried in 1997 and although he was already a  member she left her home church Kings Deliverance to join him.

Roger and Liz raised 4 kids, Johnny, Kevin, Tyshika and Ashley with 2 grand children, Angela (Nita) adn De'quan (Dink) in the house with them. The couple also spent many years housing elderly extended family members usually until their sweet departure from earth.

Roger and Liz together spent many hours working with the I Can We Can Foundation of Baltimore volunteering to make sure families of Baltimore had what they needed even if it was just laundry detergent. They were Amazon Prime before Amazon Prime delivering items such as laundry detergent, snacks, can goods and many items. Roger enjoyed waxing the floors for his church Refuge Way of the Cross and he continued to complete other side cleaning jobs.

Roger spent time traveling to places such as North Carolina, Virginia, Pittsburgh and Ohio during his years. Never depend on Roger to drive because he was always guaranteed to get tired and eventually fall asleep. Lol.

Roger purchased a dog for Ashley for her 7th birthday Fluffy but that dog soon became his bestfriend until almost the very end of his life. Between Fluffy, his black leather chair and his car collection, we're not sure what he loved the most.

Roger was proceeded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann Finley, three sons Kevin Finley, Donnell, Gilbert and Clarence.
