Robert Jones Sr. was born to the late Robert and Julia Jones on December 29, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland. On September 22, 2024, Robert departed this life for a better home; he left to be with the Lord.
Robert affectionately known as Bougie, received his education in the Baltimore City school system.
He worked many jobs throughout his lifetime, including Conrail, Checkered Cab, and Target Appliances, to name a few.
In 1982, Robert accepted Jesus Christ into his life and was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Robert enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family deeply and spending time with them was one of his most precious pastimes. Robert was a family man; he took care of his family, and they took care of him. He always looked forward to getting a plate from his niece, Barbara Ann, but more importantly, he loved her sweet potato pie! Robert would enjoy his alone time by watching a good old western movie and drinking a beer. He loved western movies, but his all-time favorites were The Ten Commandments and The Robe. Robert also enjoyed playing cards, with Pinochle being one of his favorite card games.
Early in life he met and married Catherine. Out of this union came one son, Robert Jr. In July of 1970, he met Audrey Jones. In 1983, they married and together raised 3 children, Robert, Veronica, and Eric. From the very first day that he met Audrey, he knew they were destined to be together. In the forty eight years they spent together, their love continued to grow, and that bond stood strong until his death.
He was the last surviving child out of a family of five sisters and two brothers. Also preceding him in death were his four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Audrey Jones and his children, Robert Jr.,(Lea) Robert (Linda), Veronica (Reginald), and Eric (Katrina); his grandchildren, Sheneka, Racqueal, and Robert III; nineteen bonus grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; twenty nine bonus great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters-in-laws; and one brother-in-law. He also leaves four nephews whom he shared a very close bond with, Willie, James, Major, and Robert Anderson; two very special nieces who were close to him, Sandra (Chubby) and Barbara Ann; and four best friends, Smitty, Richard, Delsie, and Ball (John); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
