ROBERT C. JOHNSON SR. born on January 21, 1948, in Baltimore, Robert grew up with a natural kindness and charming energy that would define his life. He was the son of the late Mary Johnson and James KIenan, who instilled in him the values of compassion, hard work, and resilience. Throughout his life, he was known for kindness, strength, humor, generosity, dedication and a warm smile wherever he went. Robert was raised in Baltimore City, receiving his education through the Baltimore City Public School System and graduating from Dunbar High School in the late 60's. Before heading off to the military to serve his country.
Lovingly known to many as "Bobby", he touched the lives of many through his work over the years with the Baltimore City Housing Authority after retiring he dedicated his time to the Harford Belair Community Mental Health Center. Robert was best known for his role as a devoted father, loving grandfather, loyal brother to the East Baltimore Elks Lodge # 1043 and the greatest trash-talker you could ever meet. He passed down family traditions, shared countless stories, and created memories that will be cherished for generations.
A natural hard worker, Bobby was never afraid to get his hands dirty. Often using his skills in carpentry and plumbing, he was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. In his down time his favorite things were, cooking, watching his favorite tv shows "Perry Mason", enjoying time with friends and family, a Gin on the rocks with water & lemon and watching His Grass Grow.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Audrea Johnson and Robert C. Johnson Jr.; his grandchildren, Whitney, Antonio, Kyle, Aaliyah, Robert, Kiarah, Anya, Darron, Tiyon, Erin; his great grands Khalil, Genesis, Amari & Tylin; his siblings, Gary, Calvin and Iola. She also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will forever remember his kindness, wisdom and infectious laughter. He is preceded in death by his brother James "Darnell" and sisters Gloria "Globie" and Hope "Hopie" with whom he is now reunited in eternal peace.
