On February 5, 2016 God called our beloved Robert to his eternal resting place.
Robert joined the United States Army in 1968. He proudly retired with 22 years of military service. After a short period of relaxation, he became employed with the Federal Government Services. Robert was very proud to be in both the U.S. Army Service and as a civilian federal government employee, in which he retired from both. During his employment period he occupied numerous positions within the administrative side of procurement. He was rewarded with an abundance of Awards for Outstanding Performance and Achievement. His diligent work ethics were duly noted and recognized by promotions, cash bonuses and outstanding employee certificates.
'Robert Jones' as he so loving like to be called, was a quiet Godly man who took great pleasure in being a strong proud independent family man. Robert was well-known amongst his co-workers, friends, neighbors and even the ladies. Robert enjoyed traveling, cooking, good conversation, being well-groomed, sports and he mostly enjoyed his spirits.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Selena Davis Jones, and his beloved 'Big Ma' Willie Mae Wooten, who raised him. He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father Robert Lee Wooten of Manhattan, NY; five children, Chester Williams and Antonia Jones-Evans(Reginald) of Goldsboro, NC. Arthur Jones and Shawn Jones(Kendra) of Augusta, GA; and Yalawa Quarles Johnson of Atlanta, GA; two step children, Shawn Holloway and Tonya Holloway of Temple Hills, MD; fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a very special loving friend, Jacquline Thomas; an adopted son, Shawn Thomas; and a special god-daughter, Brenda Ferguson. Robert is also survived by one sister, Alberta Pickett and one brother, Joe Nathan Jones; one Aunt, Ruby Booker; and a host of other love ones, relatives and friends.
