Rayquan Garrett Givens

was born to Samantha

Atkinson and the late Claude James Givens on January 16, 1996 at Johns Hopkins

Hospital. Rayquan was affectionately called and known by everyone as

“Twin” or Ray, but most of all that radiant smile he left behind…

Raquan received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools Systems and

graduated in the top of his Class in 2014 from Paul Laurence

Dunbar High School. Ray loved to spend time with his family for

any and every occasion. He enjoyed playing video games, football,

basketball and shopping for the latest fashion trends. Ray had a

love for sneakers Nike was his favorite he would order online,

even stand in line for the new releases. Ray was a hard

worker and didn’t mind working the 2 jobs he held at

Sonic and Amazon.

Rayquan was the life of many of the family gatherings

and was sure to leave an impression with his laugh.

Ray loved to have family dinners on Sunday’s and having

game talk about his favorite Football Team the Baltimore

Ravens and would verbally challenge anyone who

was against his team even if they were losing. Ray had

many one line quotes and jokes he would share with his

family and friends. Let’s not forget the nicknames he gave

many of his loved ones dear to him.

Preceding him in death was his father Claude James Givens;

grandmother, Thelma Mitchell; aunts, Pat, Eva, Esther, Joyce and

May; uncle Tavon Everett.

Rayquan leaves to mourn his mother Samantha Atkinson, three

brothers, his twin Dayquan, Tarron & James, one sister, Tynise;
