PAUL CHRISTOPHER SMITH was born on the 11th of January in 1943, to the late Raymond D. Smith Sr. and Ruth Wheeler-Smith in Baltimore, Maryland. Paul was the fifth of nine siblings. Paul received his education in Baltimore City Public School System where he graduated from Carver High School. In 1964 Paul was enlisted in the Armed Service where he served two years before Honorably Discharged. When Paul was discharged from the Armed Services in 1966, he met the love of his life Gladys Jones. They were married on the 12th of October in 1970, where they shared three children from this union Niecee, Paul (proceeded in death) and Paulita.
For many years, Paul was employed by Unysis, retiring in 2015 after working for MTA for 30 years doing what he loved to do fixing the computer systems. Paul affectionally known as Smitty, was a jack of all trades. He was always willing to help anyone in need and there was nothing Smitty couldn't fix T.V.'s, radio's cars, you name it Paul could fix it. He was a gentle man of few words, but when he did speak he left a lasting impression with the joke he told or knowledge he left. Paul enjoyed listening to Reggae Music, watching boxing matches, and most of all Traveling with his (Glatt Rat) to Aruba and Atlantic City.
Paul lived a full life surrounded by family before peacefully transitioning in his sleep an June 6, 2025. Paul leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife Gladys Smith, two daughters, Niecee Purnell (Mike), Paulita Robinson (Craig), one son Paul Smith-Morton (proceeding in death) adopted son Andre Wiley, 3 grandchildren, Michael Purnell, Tanisha Purnell, Donnell Lighty, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings, Jean Hatchel, Antonio V. Smith Sr., Orson M. Smith, Dr. Andre X. Smith (Ann), Brenda Tarver and a host of family and friends.
