Patricia Hines Biggers

PATRICIA A. HINES BIGGERS, one of nine children, was born to the late Patricia Carter and Leroy Carter Jr., in California on August 8th 1957. Her family later moved to Long Island, New York where she was raised.

She received her education in Wyandanch school district in Long Island attending: Milton L. Olive Middle School, and Wyandanch Memorial High School. She soon married Robert Hines and had two children. She later remarried Jerome Biggers Sr. and waited almost twenty years later and had two more children. She was always an involved parent. She drove school buses and volunteered in the Baltimore City School Districts for most of her youngest two children’s educational years. She was also a member of the Parent Teacher Association at Dr. Bernard Harris Sr. Elementary School.

Patricia (also referred to as “ lil New York” by close friends) was a special spirit. She loved everyone she ever came in contact with. It was hard to not love her back. She would make it her business to talk to EVERYONE! She was a very religious person. She spent most of her days trying to help others. She read the bible daily. Patricia’s hobbies included waking up at the crack of dawn and blasting gospel music and if you were lucky enough to spend the night at her home you were able to experience her waking you up with her music playing as she cleaned the house at 5am. (what a joy). Some other hobbies were bowling, cooking and writing. She definitely was one of a kind. If you knew her you had to love her matter how silly she was. She loved to sing and dance and you couldn’t tell her she wasn’t her kids age. She always wanted to hang with her kids and do activities with them, even though most times we were against it. She loved to have gatherings at her home.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory: five sisters, Phoebe, Josietta, Audrey, Deborah, Shenequa; three brothers, Joe III, Gregory, Leroy III; four children, Julius (Juice), Angelina (Angie), Jada, Jerome Jr.; goddaughter, Kenja; grand children, Izaiah and Jeremy; great-granddaughter, Jae’Dyn; nieces and nephews, Tremaine Sr, Tijuan, Alisia, Christina, Kevin Sr., Dalila, Keona, Denea, Tierra, Katrina, Anthony, Michael, Queen, Jasmine, Arianna, James, Sol, KJ, Amore, KJ, Zuri, Zy’Jaia; and a host of other close relatives, and friends and children she claimed.
