OTIS L. BROWN SR., son of Jessie M. Brown and the late Calvin Brown was born on May 31, 1949 in Blackstock, South Carolina. He departed this life on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Otis was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools (Dunbar), where he love to play sports, he loved to play baseball on a team called the "Ashland Bears", enjoyed watching his sports on TV.

Otis was employed at several jobes, including comfort care DB.AY care center; Golden Pond Day Care Center; B & O Railroad and he retired from Armco Steel Co.

Otis was proceeded in death by his beloved son; Otis L. Brown Jr.; daughter, Pamela Young; his brothers Charles and Johnny and sister Barbara Brown.

Deacon Otis Brown is the last of the longest- serving deacons of the new Pilgrim Baptist Church. His trust in the Lord is what fuels his passion to serve the members of the church and where ever he went. He also served a number years working in the Baptist Convention, as security, class participant; church representative and much more.

He served as church school superintendent; bus transportation; VBS Teacher, music ministries. "have a little talk with Jesus" was one of his favorite along with "I have decided to follow Jesus.

Deacon Brown's leadership was most prominently displayed during our search for a Pastor from 2017-2020. He stood on the word of God and allows the word of God to order his steps. One of his favor saying was "Stay in your lane" and "It's tight, but right". He will be missed by all.

Otis leaves to mourn: a caring and loving Jessie M. Brown; daughter, Shelena; three daughters-in-law, Shennae, Shania, Busta, Drew; three loving grandsons, Otis L. Brown III, Kevon, and Kevin; two granddaughters, Marion and Karlie; a great-grandson, Otis L. Brown IV; four sisters, Mary Parker-Collins, Sarah Williams (Jerome), Hazellene Brown Carter; and Pamela Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends and a very special "Long time friend" Paul James.
