Norman Wyle Foster was born on December 7, 1939, in Fairfield County, South Carolina to the late Tom Foster and Mary E. Graves. After a brief illness, he departed this earthly life peacefully on August 22, 2021.

He received his early education in the public schools of Fairfield County, South Carolina. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland he became employed by National Gypsum Company where he worked for over 40 years until his retirement.

On December 4, 1961, Norman married Estelle Woodard. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Darren, and Dennis Foster.

Grounded in his faith, he initially joined New Pilgrim Baptist Church, and then later moved his membership to Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist church. Norman was a charter member of Greater Gethsemane Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD where he served faithfully as a deacon for 32 years. Additionally, he served on the male chorus and vocal choir. One of the legacies he leaves to cherish is his dedication and commitment to ensuring the doors of the church were opened on time for worship services, funerals, and church activities.

When he was not working at the church, he enjoyed watching his favorite television shows, eating his favorite foods, and listening to gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Foster; sister, Anna Bell Coleman and brothers Thomas, Edward and James Foster.

Norman leaves to cherish his memories and to celebrate his legacy his devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Estelle Foster (Baltimore, MD); son, Darren Foster ( Baltimore, MD); grandchildren, Darren Jr. and Dontae Foster (Sade) ,and Nyeah Thomas all of Baltimore MD; great grandchildren (Aaliyah Foster and Zoey Lindsey , Baltimore, MD); sisters, Edith Douglass (Baltimore, MD), Wonetta Jones (Baltimore, MD), and Elma Stewart (South Carolina); brother, Floyd Foster (Baltimore, MD); sister in laws, Bertha Bell, Rebecca Foster and Jessie Davis, all of Baltimore, MD and Doretha Perry (Atlanta, Georgia) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
