Nellie R Johnson

Nellie Ruth Johnson was born in Whiteville, North Carolina to the late Waylan Burt and Minnie Scott Burt.

She received all her education in Whiteville, North Carolina.

Nellie relocated to Baltimore in the 1950’s. She met Wayne Jesse Stephens Sr. and from that union she had two sons. Then she met Benton Watkins and from that union she had one son. Later on, in her life, she met James Green and from that union she had her only daughter. She then met her soulmate Acie Johnson, who preceded her in death.

In the neighborhood where she lived, she was known as the “Store Lady” she always had what people needed. She had a love for card games and man could she talk some trash! Nellie also enjoyed playing the lottery” especially when she hit” Dancing is something that she did very well. She loved doing the “Stinky Leg” with the aid of her cane.

Her all time dream job is one that she did well. “Bar Manager” and she ran every bar she ever worked in like a well-oiled machine.

Nellie leaves to mourn Wayne,(Shelia,)Anthony, Michael,(Evette),and Angela who preceded her in death. She had 13 Grandchildren: Nicole, T’kia , James(Nicole) Christina,Sandra( jonnie) Shawntria, Nikki (Deon), Adrian (Carla), Lamont, Deandre Dionna (Kenneth) James (Octavia) and Anthony Jr. who preceded her in death. She had 28 great Grands and 5 great great grands.13 sibling who preceded her in death and a host of relatives and friends that will cherish her memories.
