Nacole (Nicky) Vanea Taylor was the daughter of the late Fern Diane Hicks-Taylor and Robert Lee Taylor, Sr.. She was born on February 24, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. Nacole was raised in the East Baltimore area of Baltimore City where she attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Eastern High School. She furthered her education at Sojourner - Douglass College graduating in 1994, where she received a dual degree in Special/Early Childhood Education.
Nacole dedicated her life to Christian service, a woman of faith and loved the Lord. She joined
Waters AME Church under the pastorate of Rev. Ronald E. Braxton. At Waters, she was loved by
many and developed close friendships. Nacole was a true prayer warrior, that looked to the Lord
for His direction in all things. She served on the Steward Board, an active participant in the
Tuesday night bible study, Wednesday night prayer meetings, led the opening of Sunday School
class, praise and worship team, substance abuse ministry, women's ministry, soup kitchen,
Pastor's Aide, Wednesday morning prayer line, class leader and sang on several choirs.
Nacole was employed as a teacher at St Vincent de Paul Head Start Program. As a teacher and
leader in her community, she achieved many awards and recognition for her faithfulness to the
many young children. Her dedication and resourcefulness with her students, parents and
coworkers was exceptional.
Nacole's servant spirit was always there if anyone in her family needed help. She was always
stylish, loved to dance and enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends. A pleasant person to
be surrounded by and gave many words of encouragement.
Nacole departed this life suddenly on Saturday, November 7, 2015. She leaves to celebrate her
life a devoted father Robert Lee, and his companion Mae Gore; two sons Trebra and William; two grandsons, Justin and Javonte; one sister Rev. Robin Williams (Ronald); two brothers, William Shivers (Olivia) and Robert Lee Taylor, Jr. (Catherine); two step-sisters, Scott and Dominique Preston; one step-brother, James Preston (Chris); one uncle, Barry Shields; two nieces, Courtney and Saidah Shivers; six nephews, Nick, Robert, Shawn, Mark, Domonick (Linnea), Darrien; six great-nieces, Janae, Lakayla, Dominique, Michelle, Madison and Courtney; two great nephews, Jerome Jr., and Preston; two god-mothers, Syrnea Jacobs and Louise Chapman; many cousins and best friends Gloria Queen, Tonya Queen-Sanders and Hilda Trent. Mothers of the church the late Marie Franklin Smith and Luvona Denkins.
One sister, Jacqueline Savage; one nephew, Jerome Waters, Sr.; and one niece, Cintia Taylor preceded her in death.
