Moses Smith, son of the late Willie and Janie Smith, was born on March 28, 1930 in Sumter, South
Carolina. He departed this life on May 26, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
He received his education at Ebinizee School in
Danzelle, South Carolina. Upon completion of his
education he joined the Untied States Army, after
several years of service he was honorably
discharged. Moses moved to Baltimore City in 1950
where he worked several jobs until receiving a
position with the Baltimore City Department of
Public Works in 1969 and retired in 1992. He was a
member of Shepherd Heart Missionary Baptist
Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Albertha
Butler; brother, William T. Smith; son, Larrington
Smith; and grandson, Andre Jr.
He leaves behind to mourn his memories Alice
McBride; daughter, Cynthia; son, Andre;
granddaughters, Lakesha, Andrea and Dechonne;
nieces, Margaret and Ericka; nephew, Wesley Jenifer (Shillington, PA); great grandchildren, Branden, Kayden, De'Andre, De'Kiara and Brayden; cousins, Eliza Pearson of South Carolina, Elouise White of Baltimore City, Antoinette Plowden of New York and Esther Smith of New York; a good friend, Aline Smithand a host of other relatives and friends.
