Listen to Obituary

On February 1, 2024, at 4:52 a.m., Michael Emanuel Bell departed this life at the Future Care Lochearn Nursing Facility at 4300 Seaton Drive, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Michael was born June 1, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Edgar Lee Bell, Sr., and Betty Lee Bell. Michael was the thirteenth child of fifteen siblings.

He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System (Johnston Square Elementary School and later graduated from Joseph C. Briscoe Academy).

After High School, he joined Job Corp in West Virginia, VA, and took up a trade in welding.  Later, he returned to Baltimore, Maryland, and received a job at a welding company in Downtown Maryland.  Micheal later worked as a maintenance person at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. During his evening shift, he always smiled and greeted everyone. Michael stayed at the Inner Harbor until he became ill (June 1, 2003), and Deborah, his sister, was entrusted with his care, which was one of the wishes their parents had before they passed.

He joined Gospel Mansions of Hope International Ministries Church under the dynamic leadership of his sister, Deborah, on June 1, 2003, and he was highly active in the church as an usher.

He was nurtured in a Christian home and, at a young age, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the precious Holy Ghost at First Apostolic Faith Church, 27 South Caroline Street, Baltimore, Maryland. He was an active member of the church.

Michael never got married; however, he had one precious daughter named Sharron Renee Gilmore, born on December 6, 1983. Michael loved his daughter, cared for her, and taught her to love everybody as Christ loved the church.

Michael stayed working at the Inner Harbor until he fell ill, and Deborah, his sister, was entrusted with his care, which was one of the wishes Michael's parents had before they passed.

As the years passed, Michael found a deep love for the area where he lived with his sister Deborah in Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. You could find him at Camp Concern or the Chick Webb Recreation Center helping out with the youth.

Those who knew and loved Michael recognized and respected his ability to love unconditionally.  He was always willing to serve the community.

Micheal now joins his mother, father, and five siblings.

Therefore, this remarkable servant of God leaves to cherish and celebrate his life legacy: his daughter, Sharron Renee' Gilmore; five brothers, Henry Trogden (Rita), John Taylor, Tyrone Bell (Jackie), Edward Bell, and Allen Bell; four sisters, Shirley Bell-Gray, Diane Bell-Paige, Brenda Marsha-Garris, and Bishop Deborah A. Bell-Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
