MEREDITH JEROME BROTHERS, SR., was born April 2, 1951 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. He was the first born to Meredith L. & Lycina Brothers. Meredith accepted Christ as a teenager and was baptized at Fountain Baptist Church. He attended Booker T. Washington Junior High and  transitioned to Baltimore City College from which he graduated in 1969 where he excelled in basketball and football.

He began working for the Lord Baltimore Press in 1969 and he worked for Conrail for many years which allowed him to travel throughout the Northeast Corridor. His last and longest place of employment was Friends School of Baltimore where he served in several departments. His love for people and conversation led him to also serve as an assistant football coach and a mentor to many.

In 1971, he married Patricia Rowe and from that union came his children, Nicole and Meredith, Jr. As his life changed, he married his current wife, Annette in 1997 and from this union came a daughter-Mallorie and children, Michael and Sharnette Windley.

Meredith seized the moment to teach whenever he had an audience. He was always willing to share his knowledge on cooking, grilling, politics, sports and history-especially African American and African History. He enjoyed reminiscing about the old days and shenanigans of the neighborhood while taking pride in his block and warding crime. For this he became known as "The Mayor of Bond Street". Known to be a :thrifty shopper" Meredith was the master of finding a bargain and a diamond in the rough. He loved shopping for shoes, hats Afrocentric pieces and musical instruments. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family as he was the ultimate lover of music. He could listen to a song and dissect every instrument and chord. He spent as much time as he could in one of his most favorite places-Sound Garden just to enjoy the music. As much as he loved to listen, he loved to sing. He was proud of singing, recording and performing with The Original Little Ark Male Chorus.

Meredith was called to rest on November 26, 2016 after an extended hospital stay. He will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife-Annette; his children, Nicole, Meredith Jr. (Ashley), Mallorie, Michael and Sharnette; grandchildren, Mia, Malik, Mezziah, Myles, Sharnajah, LaParis, Lamont and Gabrielle; mother, Lycina; sisters, Merilyn and Muriel; brothers, Kenneth Waters and Patrick Britton, nieces, Kimberly, Lauren, Lindsay and Lacy; nephew Antoyn Redditt,; aunts Ethelyn Bradford and Shirley Randall; uncle, Joseph Randall; sister-in-law, Linda Selby,; brother-in-law, Lenny Selby and a host of cousins, extended family and many, many friends.
