Maurice Tubman, son of the late Charles A. Tubman was born on March 15, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on January 1, 2020.

Maurice graduated from Southern High School where he majored in Music. He loved playing the drums and saxophone. He was very good at it and together with friends, formed a small music band. Maurice later attended Strafford Business School. After finishing his courses, he landed an accounting job and could type 85 words per minute.

Maurice was ‘a Jack of all Trades’. He worked as a correctional officer at the Baltimore City Jail. He also worked as a driver for local funeral homes. Lastly, he was employed with the Baltimore City Department of Trash and Sanitation.

Maurice was affectionately known as “Pudding Pop”, “Fat Albert”, and “Big Reese”. He loved to watch old favorites like “The Three Stooges”, “The Flintstones”, “Star Trek” and “Lost in Space”. He loved to laugh and often used phrases like “picture that” and “shut up”. He was always ready for a good joke.

Maurice leaves to mourn: his devoted mother, Louburttie Tubman; one aunt, Eunice Carter; two sisters, Valerie Coney Cobbs and Yvonne Palmer; one brother-in-law, Darnell Palmer; one son, Maurice Isaiah Jamal Tubman; three grandchildren, JaCoby, Josiah and N’Kilynn Tubman; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
