Mary E. Waters

MARY ERNESTINE WATERS, was born Mary Ernestine Moore to Andrew and Irene Moore on February 13, 1932 in Oxford, North Carolina. Affectionately known as Tina, she was the eldest of six girls. Upon the completion of high school, she studied business, focusing on secretarial studies in Maryland. It is there where she met her husband, Wilfred H. Waters. Their union bore seven children: four daughters, Wanda Russell(Selma), Donna Waters, Cynthia 'Cindy' Davis(Kenneth), and Jocelyn Read and three sons; Robin Waters, Stephen 'Stevie' Waters (Terry) and Terry 'T-Wayne' Waters.

She entered the gates of the Lord on may 7, 2016. She reunites with her husband Wilfred and her younger sisters, Beatrice Foster, Joan Green and Katherine Moore.

Mrs. Waters is forever remembered as a doting mother to her seven kids. She is survived in love by seven children, Wanda, Robert, Donna, Cynthia, Stephen, Jocelyn and Terry; two sisters, Marjorie Terry and Gwendolyn Peace; twelve grandchildren, Maurice, Robin Marie, Corey, Stephanie, Takesha, Patricia, Kennedy, Antoine, LaTesha, Erica, Brandon and Tyrone; and a host of great-grandchildren, and many loved ones.

Mrs. Waters believed deeply in community and had a passion for taking care of children and families. She found enjoyment in helping parents raise their children. She opened her home to many kids throughout the neighborhood, making baked goods and treats for the children. Her love and compassion drew many of the children back for visits on several occasions. Her glory was and will always be her family. Her smile was as radiant as the sun. The light from her dimples will forever shine in our hearts.
