Marietta J. Smith

Our beloved Marietta Jolly was born to the late Emma Trusty Jolly and Pete Jolly on March 13, 1923, in Baltimore, MD. The Lord saw fit to call her home on March 22, 2015.

She met the love of her life, the late Charles Smith, and was married on March 7, 1942. After many years of employment in the Maryland school system, she retired in 1983.

Marietta accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and claimed Christ United Methodist as her church home until her passing. Carrying Christ in everything that she pursued, Marietta was a God-fearing woman. Affectionately known as 'Mae' she had a beautiful and loving spirit towards everyone that had the chance to encounter her presence. Aside from putting God first, family was the vessel to Marietta's existence. She had a way into a person's heart and a reason for their laughter with her flamboyant personality.

Mae will be joining her late sister and brother, Dorothy Cooper and Milton Hicks.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Brenda Johnson (Daughter), Shawnita Johnson (Granddaughter), Shaniqua Parrish (Great-Granddaughter) and Jereline McLaurin (Niece). She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and other close friends.
