Marie Y Lyons

Marie Yvonne Lambert was born on October 2 1946 to Edward lambert and Ermine Sealy she was the youngest girl of ten siblings Randolph,Victor,Olga,Vernon,Sybil,Neville,Louella,Richard,Salorna ; growing up  in St Michael Parrish on the beautiful island of Barbados. In her youth she would assist her mother in the family merchandise store with her siblings .

In 1953, at the age of 7 they migrated to her father’s home  country of Guyana where she received her education while helping her father run the family boating business. In 1969 she graduated from teachers college and went on to become an English teacher as well as a dance instructor.

Shortly after that she met Neville “Ferocious” McGarrell and from that union came her only child Marcellus.

Marie always had a smile for everyone and was always trying to help others . She migrated to the United States in 1979 where she would meet and later marry her late husband Albert Lyons in 1984.

Leveraging her passion of caring for others she would serve 28 years in nursing before retiring in May 2024. She  would care for those that weren’t able to help themselves and love her patients as if they were her family.

On October 9, 2024 this loving angel was called home to rest.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Randolph, Olga , Neville, Salorna and Sybil; Her husband Albert and the love of her life, Neville.

She leaves to mourn : her son Marcellus ;daughter in laws Denice and Lynette; Grandchildren Ebony ,(Cedric) NaQuan, Naijma, and Marissa ;Great grandsons Jace, Dante and Jeremiah ; Siblings Edward,(Desiree), Richard, Vernon, Louella ; Sister in laws Evelyn, Elizabeth brother in laws David Michael Clement Ovid and many nieces and nephews along with special friend Vanessa Mitchell.

She will truly be missed with all of the joy laughter and love that she brought to countless others, she lived a wonderful full life may she enjoy the flowers that she truly deserves in God’s bosom.
