Major ‘Mayo’ Wilkes, Jr. was born, on February 5, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland. Born to Bobbie Jean Brown and the late Major Wilkes, Sr. and raised by Bernard Brown, Sr. In recent years, he fought numerous health issues until God called him from his Labor to Reward on February 15, 2022.
He is the oldest of four siblings, sisters-Mae Jeannie Wilkes and Jeanette Blackmon and brothers- Joe Ray and Chuckie L. Hodge. Major was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System attending Northern High School and Calvert Education Center. He worked at Furncraft furniture as a craftsman and furniture refinisher for over 15 years until his health declined.
He loved all kinds of music and was a great dancer. He loved to have a good time. He loved being around people and his family. He loved to talk, and everyone loved him. Living life to the fullest, Major pursued all his dreams and desires. On June 15, 2018, he married LaShay and they enjoyed each other lives and family.

Loving wife, LaShay Wilkes; his sons, Major, Marco and Mason Wilkes, his children, Reginal McNeal, LaShay Baskerville and Carlos Baskerville, his grandkids – Madison, Lil Major, Cherish, Lil Mason, Tristian, Dream; his mother- Bobbie Jean Brown; father - Bernard Brown, Sr. ; Siblings – Mae Jeannie, Jeanette Blackmon, Joe Ray and Chuckie. Sister- n-law, Dayna Wilkerson, Uncles - Jerry Wise and Ronnie Blackmon; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
