Machelle L. Mack

MACHELLE LINNETTE MACK BROOKS was born on July 22, 1967, to Mary Lawson (who preceded her in death) and Walter Lawson, Sr. in Baltimore, MD. The Lord called her to eternal rest on December 30, 2025.

Machelle accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. George Baptist Church of Baltimore, MD where she attended bible study and services.

Machelle was educated in the public schools of Baltimore City, MD. She attended Watterson Skills Nursing School where she received a certification in nursing. She worked numerous jobs in nursing and housekeeping and became a housekeeping supervisor.

Machelle enjoyed life with her family and friends. She loved joking around and her pretty smile would light up any room.

Machelle loved her special talks with her sister Cyvelle and Nephew Walter. She especially loved her grandson Doda Butt (BKA) Justiss, whom she spent much of her time spoiling him even up until Christmas Eve when the two of them spent some time together prior to Christmas. Most of all, she adored her husband and children.

Machelle became a mother at an early age giving birth to Ametress Reid on September 5, 1983. Years later, she met and married Derrick Brooks on July 22, 1999, and out of this union, Shukar Brooks was born on July 22, 2002. July 22nd is a special day of celebration for the Brooks family.

Machelle leaves to cherish memories of a loving legacy; her husband of 261/2 years, Derrick Brooks; daughter, Ametress Reid; son Shakur Brooks; stepsons, Derrick Brooks Jr., and Martaz Brooks; stepdaughter, Ciara Brooks; grandchildren, Justiss Pate, Lyric Brooks, Zionna Awkward, Kelsey Brooks and Camden Brooks; her father, Walter Lawson, Sr. (Anna); sister, Cyvelle Bell (Roderick); brother, Walter Lawson, Jr. (Donilla) stepsister, Maria Yorkee; stepbrothers, David and Antoine;3 sisters-in-law, Carol Brooks, Myra McNair and JoAnn Thomas; brother-in-law, Corey Brooks; god-sisters, Cyvell Boyd and Pebbles; aunts, uncles and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
