Time To Be Born On March 22, 1922 in Peachland, North Carolina, William and Ada

Brown welcomed a daughter Lurray. She was their seventh

daughter. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.

Time To Learn Lurray was educated in the public schools of North Carolina.

Time of Wohip and Praise Lurray was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church where she

attended until her health started to fail. The Gospel Choir,

she served. She was a Sunday School teacher and superintendent

in the Sunday School. Lurray attended the Baptist conventions in

and out of state for many years.

Time To Provide Lurray retired from the Maryland Cup Company (formally known

as the Sweetheart Company).

Time For Pleasure Lurray enjoyed making quilts. She was able to make quilts for her

children, grandchildren and some of her great grandchildren;

others also received quilts as gifts. She was an active member of

the Waxer Center in Baltimore City. She also loved to travel with

the Touristers Club and her family. Lurray also enjoyed supporting

her children and grandchildren in all types of activities.

Time To Be Fruitful and Multiply Lurray was married to the late James E. Utsey. Out of this union,

three daughters, Deborah Savage, Ruby bond, and Vivian

Utsey-Davis were born. She leaves her daughters: Deborah, Ruby

(Pastor Melvin, Sr.), Vivian (Ernest, Jr.); six grandchildren, Bernard

Manor Care Nursing Home family.

Time of Peaceful Rest Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.

God so quietly came on Friday morning October 6, 2017 and took

Lurray to her eternal resting place. “I have fought a good fight, I

have finished my course, I have kept the faith...”
