Lorine Battle, affectionately known to her family and friends as “Shorty,” was born on March 1, 1943, to the late Queen Esther Johnson Harris. On June 29, 2026, Lorine peacefully transitioned from labor to reward and entered into eternal rest with the Lord.

 Lorine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was joined in holy matrimony to her loving husband, Gerald Battle, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Angie; her one and only brother, Willie; and her five beautiful sisters, Inaz, Rozina, Carlene, Eunice, and Perlene. 

Lorine, lovingly called “Shorty,” was truly one of a kind. She had a smile that could light up any room and a presence that made people feel welcomed, loved, and at peace. Her laughter, her kindness, and her loving spirit will forever be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

 Lorine loved her family with all her heart. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching over them, loving on them, and simply being surrounded by family. Whether through a kind word, a warm smile, or her caring presence, Lorine had a special way of making her loved ones feel important and cherished. 

She also enjoyed watching westerns and relaxing in the comfort of her home. Those who knew her knew that family meant everything to her. She carried herself with strength, grace, and a quiet love that spoke louder than words. Lorine’s life was filled with beautiful memories, and the love she gave will continue to live on through each generation of her family.

 Lorine leaves to cherish her loving memory her three sons, Johnnie, Eric, and Dwayne; her daughter-in-love, Tamyamonic; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

Though Lorine’s earthly journey has come to an end, her spirit will never be forgotten. Her love, her smile, her wisdom, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. We find comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of the Lord.
