LIZA BERNICE SUMMERVILLE was born to the late Helen and Andrew Summerville on March 12, 1951. Sadly, she departed on February 2, 2024. Liza was also known as "Snooks" by family and friends.
Liza was brought up in a loving household where she spent her childhood with both of her parents and her two younger siblings on Holbrook Street. Shortly after, Liza received her education in Baltimore City Public School System where she earned her diploma from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.
After finishing high school and entering adulthood Liza was able to land her first job at the age of seventeen and had been caring for herself ever since. She was able to move in her first place of her own where she truly got acquainted with the community in Somerset Projects. Liza was able to work doing home health care where she was able to support herself and her two children.
Liza was very decorative and was always known to "turned a house into mansion". She was always known for having one of the nicest places in any neighborhood she lived in. She decorated every holiday and her favorite holiday was Christmas. On New Years Day of 1972 Liza gave birth to her first and only daughter the late Tobey Nicole Weaver who departed in October of 1993. Before Tobey's passing, she gave birth to Liza's granddaughter and through her pain, Liza took guardianship of her three nephews and granddaughter. Liza continued to work doing home health care to support herself and her nephews and granddaughter, where she got them through life and adult hood.
In loving memory Liza leaves to mourn: one son, Todd Andrew Duncan; one granddaughter, Ayanna Nichole Copeland; three sisters, Corrine Powell, Maxine and Vanessa Summerville; four nephews, Brock Simmons, Justin Morton, Kelly Summerville and Corey Nash; three grandsons, Darien Duncan, Todd Duncan Jr. and Mekhi Duncan; four great grandchildren, Madison Duncan, Daylon Duncan, Dahlia Duncan and Kashmir Duncan; longtime partner of her son, Chamera Wilson along with her son, Jason Crippens Jr,; her nephew; Kelly's wife, Dejonay Summerville and their three children, Jace, Baleigh and Saint Summerville, and her nephew, Justin Morton Jr, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
