Listen to Obituary

Leverne Baylor born to the late Alice Baylor - White and Frederick Lee White on July 21, 1966.  He departed from this life on August 27, 2024.He was the youngest born to his mom of seven.

He was mostly was called Verne by his Mother's children and other family members, but affectionately call Uncle Lee by his many nieces, nephews and was known as Lee by his friends.

He was raised on the east side of Baltimore city.  2311 E North Ave. Where the Baylor's had many friends(family) even to this day. Lee remain in contact with many of his classmates and childhood friends.

He was educated in the Baltimore City school system.

One of his first jobs was through a school summer program at the Baltimore City Aquarium,  When he was in high school he became very much interested in styling hair.  So he enrolled in the Baltimore City School of Hair that was located downtown. So for practice he would used his sisters as guinea pigs. He decide to used his sister Valerie for his first crimping style, not realizing crimping took some time, especially on long hair. So we know how that when.  He became a very popular stylish at the hair school where people were always wanting him to do their hair. So we will say that his consistent profession was styling hair; working at many salons. Razor Cuts, North &Wolfe, Lee's Barber shop, to name a few and  even at his home as well as his Mom's home. He was faithful to his older clients going the extra mile to service them.  He was a door to door hairstylist.

He was very popular; maybe because he was very spoiled. Being the baby of his Mother's children didn't help. As a very young child his sister Hilda dragged him around with her like he belong to her. Now we know that he was Alice's baby boy but as he got older he decided his sister Valerie was his go to.

He joined the St John AME Church which was located on East Monument Street under the late Pastor Peggy Walls, where He was a devoted member of  the Usher Board. Just like his grandmother, mother and auntie Hythern. When Pastor walls was transferred to another AME church. He followed her there, 810 N Carrollton Ave until her retirement.  In July 2023 he returned back to the church under the leadership of Pastor Brandon O. McAfee, where he rededicated his life to Christ. Even through Lee had no natural children of his own he had several God children.

Those who proceeded him in death were his parents, two aunts Vionell Cherry, Edith White-McCollum, uncle Wesly Baylor and a  devote companion Benjamin Sellers.

He leaves to mourn his auntie/mom Hythern (Anthony) Bryant of South Carolina; sisters Hilda (Clarence) Simmons, Valerie (Wayne) Triplin,  Lawrence (Sherry) Baylor, Eric Baylor, Anthony (Charlene) Baylor; brothers Frederick (Sherrie) White, Milton White, sisters Loretta, Brenda and Jazmine; uncle Wayne (Karlene) McBride,  Irvin (Sharon) White,  John White, aunts Sarah Jones, Linda (Teddy) Buckson and Gloria Baylor.;  a very devoted nephew Dwight and niece Brittany; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and more cousins.
