LEON was born on October 19, 1956 and throughout his life he demonstrated resilience, dedication and a genuine love for people. He attended Baltimore City Public Schools, where he began building the foundation of the man he would become.

For many years, he worked faithfully at Bethlehem Steel, where he earned the respect of his coworkers through his hard work, commitment and dependability. He believed in providing for his family and understood the value of an honest day's work.

But if you truly knew him, you knew that work was only one part of who he was. He had a spirit that came alive through music and movement. Dancing wasn't just something he enjoyed it was part of who he was. Whether he was stepping with his friends on Pratt Line Dance Crew, sharing laughs on the dance floor, or lacing up his skates for another day at the rink, he found happiness in bringing people together. His smile, his rhythm and his energy could light up any room.

Above all, he treasured his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters, Angela Jones and Christina Jones, who were among his greatest blessings. He was also a proud grandfather to Caiden Jones, Cameron Jones and Carmyn Jones, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. His niece Nicole Jones, a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends. Even his beloved grand-dog, Noah, who preceded him in death, held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lizzie Bess Jones and Rev. Oren L. Jones, as well as his beloved siblings, Robert L. Eddie Thomas and Almer Jean. Though they welcomed him home, those of us left behind will forever carry his memory with us.

While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well lived. We celebrate a father, grandfather, brother, friend, coworker, and dancer whose spirit cannot be placed.

As we say our final goodbye, let us remember him not with only tears, but with smiles. Let us remember the sound of his laughter, the joy of watching him dance and the love he poured into his family. Those memories are a gift that death can never take away.
