LAVERNE CORLEY JOHNSON passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 24, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born on December 27, 1946 to Annie Ruth (Teal) and the late James B. Corley, Jr. in West Columbia, South Carolina. Verne, as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Thomasina Saretta (2010)

LaVerne leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved mother, Annie Ruth (Teal); daughter, Adrienne; granddaughter, Te’Shara; brother, James (Toby); two sisters, Freda and Patricia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
