KEVIN SCRUGGS was born on June 12, 1963 to Romaine Scruggs and the late Richard Jerome Scruggs Sr. On July 18, 2016, an angel was dispatched from heaven to usher him into the presence of God, with a message 'Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant, your work on earth is done. Jesus is waiting for you, Come into your eternal rest.
Kevin affectionately known as Big Hoss or Bear was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. At Lake Clifton High School. Kevin was an avid champion swimmer and was the 'All Metro Swimmer for Baltimore City.' He worked for Horne & Horne Restaurant, Duffs Smorgasbord, and Oles Envelope Company but Kevin was mainly known for constantly reading his bible.
Kevin accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence E. Poole. He was a faithful member. He attended Sunday School every Sunday. Sang on the Choir and was a constant prayer warrior. He would even go and sit on the church steps to pray when it was closed. Kevin would pray for everybody but watch out if you asked him to bless the food, he would be praying for everybody, the country, city, the neighbors, so your food may be a little cold by the time he finished.
His compassion for his family, nieces, nephew and others was infectious. He would always give a helping hand. His favorite saying when he called on the phone (and he called everybody) was 'Am I right about it?' and you would just agree because if you didn't you might be on that line another 30 minutes or more. His favorite scripture was Psalms 23 which he and his Mom quoted until he could speak no more. His Twin Keith said there was a rainbow in the sky just before he passed and there were all these circles at the end of it that looked like a portal being open just for Kevin to pass through. Just at that time Kevin said to mom' let my hand go.' That was Keith's sign that Kevin was really right this time.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted mother Romaine Scruggs; sisters, Cheri, Robin, Terria, Dominique; devoted brothers Richard(Susan), twin, Keith(Raechell), Terrance, Michael(Wendy), Anthony, Darius and several step brothers and sisters, 4 nieces, 6 nephews, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 5 aunts, 2 uncles, many cousins, friends and hi Ebenezer family.
