Kevin Donnell Poindexter, son of the late Audrey Mae Wright and John Poindexter Sr., was born on December 17, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the youngest son of seven children. He departed this life after battling a lengthy illness. 

Kevin received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools where he graduated from Baltimore City College High School. After graduating Kevin enlisted into the United States Army. 

Kevin accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Williams. 

Kevin had his one and only child with his childhood sweetheart and special friend Cherise Hudson whom he loved dearly. 

Kevin worked several industrial and machine operational jobs. His final job before retiring was working with his mother at Rockland Industry until the factory closed. Kevin loved dancing with his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as having a great time with his family, especially the great relationships he had with his daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his son in-law.

 Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, youngest sister, and a nephew. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his one and only daughter, Latia Poindexter; the mother of his only child, Cherise Hudson; four sisters, Terri, Kim, Cathy, and Charlene; one brother, John Poindexter Jr. (Lynette); and one stepsister, Nicole Stanley. 

He is also survived by two grandchildren, Brittney (Jarmel) and Dashawn; four great grandchildren, Jarmel, Somaya, Naomi, and Loyal; one uncle, Charles Coleman; five nieces, Mia, Angel, Kesha, Erica, and Kisha; and ten nephews, Ivory Jr., Andre, Ronnie, Deon, Davon, Kenneth Jr., Donnell, Denzel, Eric, and Dennis. Kevin also leaves to mourn his bonus mom in love, Angela, and his bonus brother and best friend, Michael Ross. He cherished his cousins, who were like brothers and sisters to him, including the Ross brothers, along with a host of other family members and friends. 

Last, but certainly not least, we honor Kevin’s neighborhood circle of friends, The Pony Crew Homies that he hung out with daily at their spot that they affectionately named, “The Corner.”
