Listen to Obituary

On Saturday, July 23, 2022 heaven's gates were opened to welcome home the loving and beautiful soul of Keva Monique Crum. Keva, affectionately known as "KeKe" and "Keva the Diva", lived to see the magnificent age of 30 before suddenly transitioning. Born with severe cerebral palsy and given only 3-5 years of life at birth, Keva triumphed over all medical predictions through God's strength and the love of her family.

A true love child, Keva was born on Valentine's Day February 14, 1992, in Baltimore, Maryland to parents Kevin Crum Sr. and Felicia Kelly-Crum. The oldest sister to Karimah and Kevin Jr., Keva was indeed a miracle child. From the start of her academic career at The Baer School and then onto Maiden Choice, Keva absolutely loved her school and everyone in it. She was a social butterfly that enjoyed being around other people while she perfected the skill of ear hustling. Developing lifelong friendships with Asher Gay and Shaquille Drayton, who preceded her in death, the trio became inseparable all the way through graduation and on to Progress Unlimited Adult Day Program. The three friends celebrated countless birthdays and proms and enjoyed numerous weekend outings. Keva's favorite subject in school was music, and her favorite artist was Mary J. Blidge whom she later met.

Keva's parents never allowed her disability to hinder her from traveling and experiencing life. She had and did it all! Keva's birthday parties were fun and over the top just like her personality. She's traveled by plane, train, cruise ship and more to spend time with those she loved all across the country. Keva has been to countless family reunions, summer vacations and family dinners which were some of her favorite things to do. In fact, she regularly enjoyed hanging out at Aunt Adrienne's house with her cousins, especially sister cousins, Antoinette, Danielle, Dionne and Keona.

Keva left a lasting impression on all who came in contact with her. Her infectious smile and spirited laugh will truly be missed by us all. She leave to cherish her memory two loving parents, Kevin Crum Sr. and Felicia Kelly-Crum, her remarkable sister Karimah and precocious little brother Kevin Jr. She is also survived by her grandmother Constance Crum, great uncle and aunt Kenneth Crum and Annie Crum. Paternal uncles and aunts, Floyd Benton Sr., John Benton, Butch Crum (Jewel), Gary Crum Sr., Constance Benton and Laverne Wise; maternal uncles and aunts, Michael Kelly (Amy), Spencer Kelly, Kevin Kelly, Christopher Kelly, David Kelly (Constance), Albert Kelly (Akeeshe), Shawn Kelly, Stanley Davis (Dorothy), Rudolph Davis (Ruthie), Anna Davis, Rodney Davis, Steven Davis (Keisha), Gary Davis, Barbara Flowers, Roslyn Kelly, Adrienne Kelly, Tomisha Kelly, Cynthia Lacey (George), Verna Wills (Franklin), Karen Davis and godparents William Wells and Monique Hancock. Keva was preceded  in death by her grandparents, George Crum and Robert & Ida Kelly; paternal uncles and aunts, Robert Kelly Jr., George Davis, Bernard Davis, Anthony Davis, and Elaine Davis; a host of cousins, bonus family members and friends too numerous to count will mourn her loss and cling to their own special memories forever.
