Listen to Obituary

Justice Lewis Lang Jr., son of the late Justice and Alma Lang was born June 28, 1941 in Baltimore City where he grew up in the 1700 block of Llewelyn.

He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. In 1963, he married his soulmate, Alois Hampton and from this union one child, Mark Lang, was born. Justice accepted Christ many years ago and was a member of United Baptist Church where his family has worshipped for many years.

Poochie, as he was lovingly called, worked in different trades before landing his job with General Motors where he was employed for over twenty years. He was a sharp dresser who loved his customized suits and brims.

Poochie enjoyed watching all types of sports, western movies and listening to oldies music. ln his younger years, he played football as defensive end and linebacker as a team member of the Chargers. Later, he coached the Eastside Chargers fast pitch softball team.

Unlike some, Poochie was a hands-on grandfather who invested quality time into the lives of his grandchildren. ln some ways Poochie was a father figure to many youth, often offering words of wisdom and guidance to those in his midst.

Poochie loved talking to people about any subject matter imaginable from politics to history. His stories always had a creative spin and would often bring a smile or laughter to your day. He was widely respected in his community and was referred to as the 'Mayor' on his block, but family and friends referred to him as the ''Godfather'.

He leaves to mourn: his devoted wife of fifty-two years, Alois Lang; two sons, Mark Lang and Wendell Addison; one daughter-in-law, Sheree; five grandchildren, Shekia, Justin, Shenae, Quintina and Chanell; seven great-grandchildren, three sisters, Alma, Elaine and Linda; four brothers, John, Ronald, Earl and Vernon; six brothers-inlaw, six sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
