Julius Anderson Wesson, son of the late Joseph and Pauline Wesson, was born on Monday, August, 17, 1942, in Halifax County, North Carolina. Julius departed for his home in glory on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.
Julius relocated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1963 and worked for Headwind Plastic Corporation from 1966 until he retired in 2008. Julius disliked lateness and was never late for work in his forty-two years of employment at Headwind.
Julius and Olivia met and began dating in 1975. Olivia knew from day one that Julius was a good man and a better catch. On December 20, 1980, Julius married his friend, confidant and soul mate Olivia. The love they shared and demonstrated was infectious to all around them for over 38 years. Julius, fondly called Pop by family and extended family, determined not to be idle in his retirement, continued to work with Olivia in their daycare center and on home improvement projects for friends and family. If it needed to be painted, tightened, nailed down, torn down or rebuilt, Pop was all over it. No project was too big for him to tackle. No request for help was ever declined; and everything he did, he did with love, attention to detail and excellence. In January 2010, Pop accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Throughout his life, Pop had been a good husband, father and friend. His smile and winning personality made it easy to be in his presence.
Pop leaves to mourn: his wife, Olivia Wesson; one daughter, Pattie Williams; three sons, Ricky Wesson, Stephon Wesson, and Walter Thompson; one son-in-law, James Williams; eight grandchildren, Julius Thompson, Janet Jackson, Joshua Levy, Walter Thompson, Brittany Thompson, Jemika Thompson, Nikita W. Wesson and Ronaldo V. Wesson; one granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Thompson; two great-grandsons, James Michael Thompson and Jonah Julius Thompson; one great-granddaughter, Tiffany Ricks; four sisters, Marie Whittaker, Rosa E. Demery, Shadie E. Clark and Mary L. Faircloth; two brothers-in-law, Kenney Thompson and the late Stanley Banks; one aunt and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pop leaves a legacy of love, gentleness, compassion and calmness that has anchored his family for over forty years. He was the very example of meekness.
