Julia Mae Ross

Julia Mae Ross, daughter of the late Eddie and Ollie Ross was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 9, 1941 and departed this life on June 24, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

She received her education from the Baltimore City Public Schools lf and graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in 1959. Julia worked at Western House from the late 60’s early 70’s until the doors closed in 1996. After leaving there she worked at Caldor and Food King until she retired.

She was a member of Sinners Friend Baptist Church and under the leadership of the late Rev. Charles Jones she was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. When the church closed in the early 2000’s Julia would faithfully visit Outreach Temple for Christ under the leadership of Bishop Clarence Johnson and Pastor Janie Johnson every Sunday until she became ill.

Serving the Lord and others was her first love. She loved singing Gospel hymns. She always had a smile on her face and an encouraging word. With Julia no one was a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her only child Mark Ross, two sisters, Annie and Esther Ross, two brothers, Elton and Eddie Lee Ross and one Brother-in-law, George W. Logan and a niece Towanda Ross.

She leaves to mourn: One Sister, Elaine Logan; four nieces, Darlene Jones, Lisa Ross, Angelia Ross and Renay Crawford; one nephew, Melvin Jones; one great niece, Shawnta Jones; one great nephew, Melvin Christopher Jones; and host of other relatives and friends.
