I lived my life, my way, now here’s my story, I go by the name Juanita “Peanie” Gilmore. I spent my childhood in Frederick, Maryland with my parents Daniel Thomas Carroll and Susie Odessa and siblings that I loved dearly Brenda, Linda, Sandra, Jacquelyn, Michael, Thomas and Jeffery. I moved to Baltimore where I spent my adult life, styling and profiling, pixie cuts was my signature hairdo, and you couldn’t catch me without my 3 inch nails and my jewelry. Baltimore is also where I met Bobbie Lee Burch, the father of my 3 children Jeffrey (Cubie) Carroll, Kevin “Josh” Carroll and Yvette Burch. Cubie is my oldest boy, the quiet one but not so innocent. Josh was 3 kids all by himself Lord knows he was. Yvette is my baby girl, my only girl and would y’all believe she has 9 kids?! But I’m thankful for all my grandchildren, if I name all of them we’ll be here till tomorrow but I love each and every last one them!
Now back to me, later in my journey of life I met my husband Everette Gilmore. We had our highs, we had our lows but most importantly we had love. Even the days I didn’t like him that much, I still loved him very much. The love we had was stronger than anything.
Speaking of strong, if you know me personally, you know I’m a fighter. I fought many battles and I won. I was fighting a long time now and my partner (Yvette) fought with me to the end. She would not let me give up, giving up was not a answer with Yvette. But as a fighter you have to know when it’s time to throw in the towel. I fought a good fight and Yvette I’m so thankful you took care of me, you did everything you was supposed to do. We fought with nurses, doctors and anyone else that would tell us no on this battle. But there was one man that we could not fight together Yvette, we couldn’t go against him because he knew best. God threw in the towel this time and I had to surrender.
To my sons Josh and Cubie I know y’all are taking this hard but I’m ok. Be strong for y’all only sister. To all my family and friends, remember our good moments and our happy times. We celebrated while I was here, I want y'all to continue to celebrate me..
I am at peace. I'm reunited with my parents and siblings. Y’all didn’t even tell me my baby sister (Hargie) was up here waiting for me. I'm going to get y’all for keeping secrets. We got some catching up to do so I’ll end this here…. I love y’all and I’ll see y’all when y’all get here…
