Joseph l. Frazier, son of the late Leo and Jeanette B. Frazier, was born on July 5, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on September 10, 2024 after a battle with illness.
Joseph received his education at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Baltimore. While in school, he lettered in football.
After graduation, he was employed by the Enoch Pratt Library System for a short while.
Joseph then decided to join the US Army to fight in the war in Vietnam. He spent one term of enlistment and retired due to disability.
While stationed in Thailand, Joseph met Laied and decided to spend the rest of his life together with her. They were married on June 3, 1971. Out of this union were born Chalermpol and the late Janda.
Joe, as by which many people knew him, made numerous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed. Joe was a true friend and devoted family man. He always loved to be a pillar of the 800 block of Preston Street. Whether it was selling snowballs in the summer or just having a drink on the steps in the evening, Joe was always heard. Preston Street and Hillman Street were full of friends and family, so it was always a tight knit community for Joe. Joe had two very frequented hangouts, the casino and any store that sold the Maryland Lottery.
Joe leaves to mourn: wife, Laied Frazier; son, Chalermpol Frazier; brother, Jesse Frazier; daughter-in-law, Gemalou Frazier; granddaughter, Aleina Lauren Cabacungan; aunts, Letha Ragland and Catherine; uncle, Zeek; nephew, Derek Dunlap; nieces and nephews to include, Derek, Tahj, Kiyana, Ahja, and Maliah; and a host of other relatives including a bevy of cousins and friends. If you walked down Preston Street, you were a friend.
