JONAS MALLORY, lovingly known as Pae Pae, was born in Baltimore, Maryland and lived a life rooted in love, protection, laughter and service to others. Pae Pae was a young Black man with a strong heart, one that carried deep care for his family and his community.
He was funny, loving, giving and always protective of those he loved. In his younger years, Pac Pac was an exceptional athlete. Sports came naturally to him, and he showed great promise, even being on his way toward the big leagues. Unfortunately, an incident while playing basketball with friends in the community altered the path his life would take. Though his professional journey shifted, his purpose never left. He simply poured it into people.
Pae Pae may not have had much of a traditional professional life, but he lived an incredibly impactful community life. He touched countless people through his generosity and willingness to help. He physically assisted elders in the community, always making sure elderly women had their groceries carried and often buying groceries for the women who lived in his community. He believed in showing up through action.
Family meant everything to Pae Pae. He showed up in thoughtful and meaningful ways whenever he could. His nieces were like his own children, and he loved them deeply, supporting them every chance he got. He helped his community in every physical way imaginable, from lending a hand to cleaning outdoor spaces, never too proud to serve.
Pae Pae had a deep love and respect for women, something he proudly credited to his mother, who taught him to always honor women with kindness and respect as they deserve. He carried that lesson throughout his life. Wherever Pae Pae went, he brought light and laughter. He was known for his sarcastic jokes and quick wit, filling rooms with humor and warmth. He brought joy, comfort and a sense of security simply by being present.
Despite many struggles in life, including sickness, Pae Pae made the conscious decision each day to wake up grateful, with love in his heart to give. He enjoyed working with his hands, doing construction, building and any type of handy work he could find joy in.
Jonas Mallory was preceded in death by his beloved mother Mildred Elizabeth, his favorite person in the world and his sister Angel Mallory.
He leaves to cherish his memory first and foremost his beloved cat Missy, who was his everything and constant companion, along with his sister, Paris & Scott Zlotak. His brother Raymont Mallory. Nieces, Paris Webster, Angel & Nathaniel Batey. Nephews, Rodney Murchison Jr., Coryea Webster, Keith Murchison & Margo Murchison. Great-nieces, Destinee Brown, Madyson Fowlkes and Mia Murchison. Great-nephews, Caleb Austin, Tymir Webster, Jaleel Murchison, Nathaniel Batey III and Noah Murchison, well as a host of extended family members, relatives, loved ones, and community who will continue to honor and carry his memory.
