JOHN HENRY BAGLEY, son of the late Henry and Martha Bagley was born on September 25, 1931 in Warrenton, North Carolina. He departed this life on September 8, 2011 and was laid to rest on October 1, 2015.

John, affectionately known as 'Rufus', 'Little Henry', or 'Unc' was raised in Warrenton, North Carolina and Palmer Springs, Virginia. He attended public schools there and completed his education in New Jersey. He joined the U.S. Army in 1941 and received an honorable discharge in 1946. He later joined the Army Reserves from 1955 to 1961. He held numerous jobs including, Sparrows Point, International Paper Company and retired from Warren, Ehret, Linck Roofing Company in 1993.

He attended churches in North Carolina where he gave his life to Christ at an early age. He recommitted his life to Christ in later years. He joined and was baptized at the Ray of Hope Baptist Church in 1982 where he served briefly on the Senior Usher Board. John loved his family and friends and always had room in his home for his extended family. He loved to cook, hunt, fish and work on cars. He knew how to fix a little bit of everything. He was always there in the time of need and would give you his last. He was united in holy matrimony to Annabelle Harris in 1956. John made friends wherever he went and will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death are: his wife, Annabelle Bagley; one son, Marvin Bagley, and one daughter, Paulette Bagley; three sisters, Louise(Peggy) Bostic, Flora Ann Green and Beatrice Nelson; four brothers, Edward, John, James and Clyde Bagley. He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Stephanie Rowe, Karen and JoAnn Bagley; one son, Rodney Bagley; five grandchildren, Ian, Keidra and Erin Rowe, Eugene and Tierra Wing; four great-grandchildren, Ian, Nia, Layla and Dallas; one son-in-law, Phillip Rowe; one daughter-in-law, Janine Bagley; one brother, Richard Bagley; five sisters-in-law, Betty Bagley of Rocky Mount, NC, Martha, Mable and Brenda Bagley of Baltimore, MD and Louise Bagley of Bronx, NY; two aunts, Francis Wright and Bertha White of Palmer Springs, VA; a special friend, Shirley Wise; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and close friends.
