Joan Louise Clinton, the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Louise Clinton and the loving sister of the late William (Bill) and Walter Lee Hart was born on December 1, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was called home on October 19, 2022.
Joan, also known as “Clint 6” was loved by many. Joan loved cooking, grilling, gadgets, cars, Tupac and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the QVC, HSN and Amazon Queen. Joan was also known for a good home cooked meal as she passed plates throughout the neighborhood.
Joan graduated from Eastern High School in 1969 and obtained multiple degrees from Coppin State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Joan worked for Bell Atlantic for several years and went on to work for the State of Maryland until she retired in 2019.
Joan leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Shannon Clinton-Wright; her three sisters Maggie (Clayvon-deceased), Ann (Bobby-deceased) and Sharron (Binky) (James), and her youngest brother Johnny (Alfreda-deceased). Joan also leaves to mourn seven grandchildren De’Quan, De’Sean, De’Vaughn, Dyrrel, De’ontre, D’Niya and DeSha (who preceded her in death), and five great grandchildren De’Vaugn, Jr., Jayden, Carson, August, and D’Mari.
Joan also leaves behind nieces, Tammy, Tiera, Reese, Lenae, Sh-Naya, Danielle, Taryn, Terrell, Sanata and Latice; nephews, Dennard (deceased), Bobby (Deceased), Wayne, Shane and Devin. She also leaves to mourn a host of great nieces and nephews including her Fudgies, Kenneth and Keith. Also left to mourn, are her great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins, and are her closest friends Doris, Lillian and Rose. Joan had a heart of gold and will truly be missed, but the time has come for her to rest. Today we officially retire CLINT 6.
