JENNIE MAE ROWLETT was born to the late Trenton Carter and Mable Fenner on March 22, 1951. She departed this earthly life suddenly on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
She received Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Hinton at Shiloh Apostolic Church. She and her siblings formed a gospel group called the Starlights. They perform at various churches around the city. She enjoyed singing with her family.
Jennie received her elementary and secondary education from Baltimore City School System, graduating from Dunbar High School in 1969. She attended Bay College for two years.
Jennie held various jobs throughout her life. She was employed as a security guard for Baltimore City Hall and the water department for 25 years until her retirement.
Jennie met the love of her life and married Algie Rowlett in 1972. From this union were born three sons, Jason, Damon and Aaron. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She adored her three grandchildren, Jason Jr., Madison and Rhian.
Jennie loved to talk to her sister Suzie and brother Donald on the phone every morning and throughout the day. She also would reach out to her cousin Jean Baker and spend hours laughing and talking about family and politics.
Jennie was preceded in death by her mother Mable, father Trenton, sister Joyce Lowery, and two brothers Lamont and Darryl Fenner. She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Jason Rowlett, Damon Rowlett and Aaron Rowlett; grandchildren, Jason Rowlett Jr., Madison Lee Rowlett and Rhian Michelle Rowlett; one uncle, John Lee Fenner; one sister, Suzanne Page and three brothers, James Fenner, Maurice Fenner and Donald Fenner; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousin Jean Baker.
