Listen to Obituary

JENAY ALEXANDER-DOUMBIA, the daughter of Callie M. Holliday and Lawrence Alexander was born on Saturday, January 24, 1976 in Baltimore, Maryland. Jenay affectionately known as Tobie peacefully went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2018 after a lengthy illness at the age of 42.

Jenay received her formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Edmondson High School in 1993. Having a desire to further her education, she attended The University of Notre Dame of Maryland.

She was the beloved wife of Sekou Doumbia, who was a devoted wife with a kind and sweet spirit. Jenay met Christ at an early age; she attended Church of The Everlasting Kingdom (COTEK) in Baltimore, Maryland where she gained her spiritual direction in her faith and love in Jesus Christ.

One of her favorite things she loved most was spending time with her parents from traveling, family events, concerts, movies and dinners.

Jenay had a multi-dimensional approach to life. She could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She had a strong capacity of thinking outside the box as well as displaying her gifts and talents that impacted all people.

Jenay loved to read and was an outstanding writer that expressed her creative style through poetry, short stories and inspirational messages. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and shopping. Jenay could wear any style, a fashion icon of today. Jenay never ws concern about anyone wearing the same outfit when she stepped out. Her style and class she possessed in fashion was untouchable! Jenay often said, "that she gets her ability to create an ensemble" as she dressed her body from head to toe comes from her father Peady.

We will always remember her smile, her sense of fashion, her wittiness and how much she loved her family and friends.

Jenay Alexander-Doumbia is survived by: her parents, Callie M. Holliday and Lawrence Alexander; her husband, Sekou Doumbia; her brothers, Charles P. Tyner, DeAndre Alexander, Tamar L. Baldwin; aunts, Lucille Barnes, Ivy Williams, Lelia Kimbrough, Sally Gorham, Lorna Alexander; uncles, Wayne Kimbrough, Levy Bellon, Charles Bellon, Walter Barnes, Julian Kimbrough, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
