Janelle "Ginger" Desormeaux, age 40, passed away at her home in Maryland on May 9, 2024. Born on June 23, 1983, in Landover, Maryland, Ginger brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. Ginger was a graduate of St John’s High School, class of 2001. She found fulfillment and camaraderie in her work at Green Bay Packaging and Bowery Farming, where she formed enduring friendships and achieved notable success. Her dedication and talents were recognized with numerous opportunities for advancement, of which she was immensely proud.
Beyond her professional life, Ginger found solace and delight in nature, often embarking on long hikes in nearby parks. However, her greatest passion was cooking, particularly her love for preparing and indulging in crabs. Her culinary skills were legendary, bringing joy to her children and all who had the pleasure of tasting her creations. Above all, Ginger's heart belonged to her five beloved children: Alexander, Jasmine, Railyn, Carlton Jr, and Kaya. They were her constant source of strength, laughter, and love. She cherished her family deeply and never missed an opportunity to express her affection and gratitude to them.
Ginger is survived by her devoted mother, Gertrude Ursula Desormeaux, who raised her with unwavering love and support. She also leaves behind her sisters Michelle, Gillian, Joann, Lezlyan and brothers Barry, Jerry, Joel and Obama, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. Ginger's infectious spirit and ability to make everyone feel valued will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.
